Airport Parking 101

Welcome to your home for airport parking information, from Chicago all the way down to Indy, Louisville, and the major airports in between.

Before starting: All individuals traveling on behalf of IU have a responsibility of good stewardship of IU resources. This includes making out-of-pocket purchases like parking in the most economical way possible. When premium parking is used instead of economy options, additional review and justification for full reimbursement will be required.

This page summarizes the available parking options at five midwestern airports. Click a header below to read about that airport.

FastPark has a rewards program as well where points can be redeemed for free parking (which can be used for personal travel). Please visit the airport parking discounts page for instructions on how to enroll in the rewards program.

Two other reasonable parking options at the Indianapolis airport include Economy Lot parking and the Park & Walk lot. The Economy Lot parking, is priced at $9.00/day. There are shuttle buses that operate 24/7 for travelers’ convenience to take them to the airport terminals. Buses are scheduled to arrive every 5-7 minutes. Parking in the economy lot is at a first come first serve basis. Cash payments are not accepted, and you pay for parking at the pay stations prior to leaving the parking lot.

The Park & Walk lot is priced at $14.00/day. There is no shuttle service available from this lot. It is around an 8-9 minute walk to the terminal and has a lighted path. Cash payments are not accepted for this lot, and you pay for your parking at the pay station, prior to exiting the lot.

SDF - Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport

• 20 mins to IUSE campus

When parking at the Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport, there are several reasonable parking options. One reasonable parking option is the parking garage, which offers hourly, daily and weekly rates. There is a Surface Parking Lot and Express Shuttle Parking Lot, which both offer daily and weekly rates, and offer a shuttle service at no additional expense. CVG - Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport

• 1 hour 40 minutes to IUE campus
• 1 hour 35 minutes to IUSE campus

When traveling to Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport reasonable parking options include the CVG Economy Lot, the CVG ValuPark, and the CVG Terminal Garage-General Parking. In the Economy lot, there are shuttle services available from the pick up and drop off shelters. No cash is accepted. The ValuPark offers pick up and drop off at vehicle as well as luggage assistance. No cash is accepted. The CVG Terminal Garage-General Parking is a short walk to the terminal. Credit Card payment is preferred. CVG airport parking is transitioning to credit card pay only, so please be on the lookout for this full change.

MDW - Midway International Airport

• 52 minutes to IUN campus

Midway International Airport has the economy lot, which is the best option for long term parking. There are shuttle buses included in the rate that run every 10-15 minutes and take travelers to the main terminal building. Cash and cards are acceptable and payments are made to the cashier upon exiting the lots.

ORD - Chicago O’Hare International Airport

• 1 hour 2 minutes to IUN campus

Chicago O’Hare International Airport offers several Economy parking options, that are well suited for long term parking. Economy Lot F offers covered parking to travelers. There is an Airport Transit System that provides transportation to and from all Terminals. Economy Lot G and H offer shuttle services that pick up on the Upper Level roadway. Shuttles arrive every 5-10 minutes and operate 24 hours a day.
